Our founder, Mishka Aswani.
Mishka Aswani, the founder of Music Matters Project, is currently 16 years old and living in Los Angeles, California. After having the opportunity to learn the piano at school in 4th Grade, Mishka has found so much joy in playing, singing, and learning the theory behind music. She has also spent time learning about the tremendous impact music has on maturing children’s well being, trauma coping, self expression, and overall development.
On a visit to India in 2023, Mishka was saddened to learn that access to musical instruments is virtually non-existent within countless schools around the world. Because school is where her love for music began, she has committed to providing kids with that same opportunity.
Mishka believes in music’s unique ability to enhance the lives of children and wants every kid to be able to experience its power.
